This merger saw the demise of the poppy red of the Nuffield tractors to become the blue two tone colour associated with Leyland tractors in 1969. In 1968 the government sponsored a merger of the BMH with LMC (Leyland Motor Corporation) to form British Leyland. In 1951 the Morris Motor Ltd became part of the BMC (British Motor Corporation) which subsequently merged with British Motor Holdings.
